In an organization, various roles require different permissions in the evaluation process.
If you want to assign new permissions, you can do so in the following way:
- In the left sidebar, select "Employees."
- At the end of the line for the employee to whom you want to grant permissions, click on the three dots.
- Click on "Settings."
- Scroll down until you come across "Add roles."
- Select a role you want to assign to the employee. There are different roles available, such as supervisor, evaluator, or super administrator/super admin.
- Select a team or employee for whom the role should apply. For example, you can assign a manager to an entire team or an evaluator to an individual employee. Note: the super administrator role works properly only when assigned to the parent team.
- Click "Save" to apply the changes.
Explanation of the different roles:
Supervisor:
A manager has various permissions to support the employees in their team. A manager can:
- View the goals of employees and see how they reflect on them. The manager can also write notes on these goals and create goals for employees. The manager can also approve employees' personal plans (if this setting is enabled).
- View received feedback from the employee, unless it is restricted. The manager can also request feedback from other employees about the employee they are supervising.
- Write discussion points, conversation notes, and private notes on the employees' pages.
- Write the evaluation for the employee and ultimately make it final.
- Adjust the team settings for these teams.
View Child Teams:
This role can be used in addition to the manager role. With this additional role, a manager can also:
- View the goals and evaluations of employees in all subordinate teams.
Evaluate Child Teams:
This role can be used in addition to the manager role.
- Write evaluations for employees from all subordinate teams. This manager also finalizes the evaluations.
Evaluator:
An evaluator has various permissions that allow them to participate in writing evaluations for employees. An evaluator can:
- View the goals of employees and see how they reflect on them.
- View the received feedback from the employees, unless it is restricted from colleagues.
- Contribute to the evaluation of employees. The evaluator does not make the evaluation final.
System Administrator and Super Administrator:
The System Administrator and Super Administrator roles can be used for the internal administrators of your platform. The difference between the System Administrator and the Super Administrator is that the System Administrator cannot see the goals, reflections, or evaluations of all employees, whereas the Super Administrator can. Both roles do not provide insight into the feedback received from employees.
